MMRI Receives Summer Fellowship Grant From Community Foundation
The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties announced more than $2 million in grants during the first quarter of 2024 to organizations and initiatives primarily in the areas of human services, health, arts and culture, and education.
In February, the Community Foundation invited Herkimer and Oneida County nonprofits to apply for its Education, Health, and Sciences Grant Round. Eight organizations received funding totaling over $87,000:
- Clinton Central School District Foundation for summer programs
- Masonic Medical Research Institute for the summer fellowship program
- Poland District Public Library for educational and cultural summer programs
- Project Fibonacci Foundation for the 2024 Project Fibonacci Youth STEAM Leadership Program
- Rescue Mission of Utica to provide products and services at a drop-in center for those who are homeless
- Thea Bowman House for the Reading Rockets Summer Reading Program
- Upstate Caring Partners for early intervention assessments
- Utica RISE (Rehabilitation and Integrative Services for Everyone) for expansion of a pro bono physical therapy clinic
